Commanding superb uninterrupted views across the Solway Firth to the Cumbrian mountains this Victorian mid row cottage (left of left photograph) offers a peaceful seaside retreat just two minutes' walk from a sandy beach (pictured). Ideally located for honeymooners it sits only 20 minutes from Gretna Green on a stretch of coastline characterised by wide expanses of mudflats attracting wild geese and a great variety of seabirds. An RSPB reserve lies close by and picturesque Powfoot village boasts a challenging 18 hole links golf course and hotel whilst the local area's quiet roads form part of the main cycle route in Dumfriesshire. Dumfries itself lies just 14 miles away and here the visitor will find good shops an indoor swimming pool and the Burns Heritage Trail. Bar and restaurant ½ mile; shops 3½ miles.
